Yao Ming: Basketball Superstar turned Politician


The world has known Yao Ming when he entered the National Basketball Association and played as center of the Houston Rockets in 2002 as first overall draft pick. He became member several times of the NBA all star. He suffered several injuries until the time that he decided to retire from playing basketball. He likewise played for the national team of China and became its iconic member. He is also the owner of Shanghai Sparks his former mother club in Chinese Basketball Association.

Now Yao Ming has turned into politician as he became a member of an advisory body to Shanghai's legislature."There are about 142 members in the group, and Yao is the youngest," Kong Rong, who works in the service office of committee, was quoted as saying by the China Daily.
